Among more than 1,500 depression patients, better symptom relief was attained when people were prescribed an antipsychotic medication or a second antidepressant.
Researchers discovered that 29 percent of patients who took the antipsychotic drug aripiprazole, known as Abilify, for 12 weeks, in conjunction with their original antidepressant, had nearly total remission of their depression symptoms.
